I am an australian whose father was born in switzerland. I am interested in finding out more about my family tree. My great grandmother was Anna Rothenberger (b. 30th oct 1886 d. unknown) of Buchs SG; she married Gallus Rutz. Her parents were Leonhardt Rothenberger (b. 13th December 1860 d. unknown) and Maria Lampert (b. 14th June 1861 d. unknown) who was from Liechtenstein. I have already obtained everything on the Lampert side but would like to explore the Rothenberger side. I would be willing to pay someone to help research my family as my poor german skills means that I cannot read all the information available on the internet. I can confirm the followig birth (Geburtsregister A 1915, Buchs SG, Nr.85, summarised):

Den 30.10.1886 um 2 Uhr 30 Minuten nachmittags wurde lebend geboren zu Burgerau Rothenberger Anna, eheliche Tochter des Leonhard Rothenberger, Beruf Speller [gemeint ist wohl Spiller / Spindler], von Buchs und Sevelen, wohnhaft in Buchs, und der Maria geb. Lampert von Triesenberg.

The document includes the father's signature.

I can add the parents' marriage (Eheregister A 1883, Buchs SG, Seite 1, Nr.1, summarised):

Heute den 12.01.1883 sind vor dem unterzeichneten Zivilstandsbeamten erschienen die Verlobten:
1.) Leonhard Rothenberger, Sticker, von Buchs und Sevelen in Räfis, Sohn des Matthias Rothenberger und der Anna Hagmann sel., ledig, geboren in Buchs den 23.12.1860
und
2.) Maria Lampert, Fädlerin, von Triesenberg FL in Triesenberg, Tochter des Johannes Lampert und der Maria Lampert, ledig, geboren in Triesenberg den 18.06.1863.

ooII 1824 Cathrin Hagmann (1800-1830), Tochter des Heinrich und Anna Schlegel von Sevelen.
3 Kinder, Mathias der jüngste.

Rothenberger Hans (1759-1823)
oo 1788 Ursula Senn (1761-1798), Tochter des Meister Jakob von Buchs.
4 Kinder, Mathias der älteste;
Wiederverheiratung nach dem Tod der ersten Frau bei der Geburt des vierten Kindes.

oo 1759 Anna Hagmann (1734-1770), Tochter des Hans von Sevelen.

Roland Thommen has only copied the years, not the exact dates, but with his list it should be fairly easy to find the exact dates in the church records (filmed by the Mormons).

When I wrote the above posting, nothing was online: you had to view films at the nearest Mormon family history centre. In the meantime all records have been digitized - the older ones may be viewed online: http://scope.staatsarchiv.sg.ch/resultatliste.aspx. The more recent ones are blocked due to Swiss privacy legislation: most can be viewed at history centres, though. Most of the entries you are looking for, will be available from your home.

Type the name of the parish (e.g. Buchs) in the first field ("Titel beginnt mit") and "ZVA 12" in "Signatur beginnt mit".
